ELD Mandate 101 - What is the ELD WEEKLY LIMIT ?

With the US ELD mandate fast approaching and starting live on Dec 18 2017, here is Zed Connect's next installment our our ELD Mandate 101 training:

The on duty weekly limit is based on a 7 or 8 day period, starting at the time specified by the motor carrier for the start of a 24 hour period (Zed Connect uses midnight as carrier fleet start time). The on duty limit is a “rolling” 7 day or 8 day period. The oldest days drop off at the end of each day (midnight) when the driver calculates the total on duty time for past 7 or 8 days. On duty time includes driving time or any work related activities
